A Long Overdue Prayer

I have made a tremendous number of mistakes in my life. There have been moments in my life that I regret with all my heart and soul. I am thankful; however, that God has placed a desire in me to become a better person. He has blessed me with a loving wife and wonderful children & step-children. God has chose to remain in my life even when I turned away from Him. When my heart was filled with hate and rage, the Holy Spirit remained ready to flood it with the love of my Savior.

I am so thankful that my God has given me a clear path to learn what is right and wrong. So many new-age, humanistic faiths teach that there is no absolute right and wrong even as they denigrate and scoff at those who place their faith in Christ. My Lord is clear when I have done wrong … even when it hurts my feelings. He loves me enough to provide a clear path to redemption.

I am thankful for Scripture. No other religious document has come close to its historicity or prophecy. I am grateful that God as provided me a text that engages my mind along with my heart.

I have been a lousy student of Christ. Thankfully, He is the perfect teacher.

Thank you Lord for all of my blessings. Thank you for providing me with great children, good friends, and a beautiful wife who tells me every day that she loves me. Please forgive me of all my sins and fill me with the desire to study and meditate on the Holy Scriptures more. I pray that you will draw me closer to you and continue to work Your miracles in my life. Please give me the strength to represent You well and protect me from the evil in this world.
