Hey John ... nice to see you dude. You are referring to this quote from above, "In favoring “right living,” emergents often forget the importance of “right thinking.” I’ve often asked why we can’t have both and have criticized the emergent movement for trying to “escape” the church as we know it."

Let me explain. The term "right living" is meant to capture the missional approach to living that is favored by the emergent movement. It is a good thing. It is a life of service, social awareness, and community. I am not knocking it in the slightest. It is, obviously, a good way to live. My problem is when emergents sacrifice orthodoxy (right belief) in favor of orthopraxy (right living). When we tell others that it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you live the right kind of life, we are misleading them (perhaps with good intentions, but with possibly disastrous results). It is, after all, not their actions that set Christians apart from others (for anyone can do good things), but rather their beliefs.

Many times, emergent writers advance their visions of how a Christian should live (which is a good message) while refusing to affirm the traditional beliefs of Christianity. This is when I must disagree with them.

I hope that helps clarify what I was saying John, and I hope you're doing well dude!
